Subject:Sound Forge Loses Display Preference Settings

I've been scratching my head awhile now wondering why my display settings that I setup in the preferences keep disappearing. For the majority of the wave file display settings I use the default colors, but for the "Normal:Selected Background", I always set this to a light blue because I can't stand the default black selection color. Settings Green=255 Blue=255.

I've been running a project in Sound Forge for the past week without closing Sound Forge. I come to find out when I wasn't working on the project my wife was using my PC to check her email.

Here's the steps to reproduce Windows XP:

!. Have previous preference settings setup in SF.
2. Open Sound Forge
3. Open .WAV file
4. Goto WinXP start menu select Log off username
5. Select "Switch user"
6. Log onto other users name, my wife's in my case
7. Once logged on Goto WinXP start menu select Log off username
8. Select Log Off
9. Log back into account still running Sound Forge
10. Sound Forge losses the Display preference settings and goes back to default settings.

Please fix.

Try closing Sound Forge and opening it back up again (before re-adjusting display settings).

In this particular case I couldn't close Sound Forge out. I had extracted 15 files from CD and was doing some edits and then saving the files to .MP3 format. So since the files where extracted and never saved to the hard drive, I couldn't close out Sound Forge, without either having to save all the files, or going through the extraction process. I didn't really want to Save first as .Wav because I would have had to take up a lot of Hard drive space to do so and reopen the files. Also when I originally made the display change setting, I had closed out Sound Forge. I then opened Sound Forge at a later date and went through the repro steps and saw the problem.

The good things is that I had Sound Forge Open for a week with 15 files changing back and forth between user accounts with different apps running in the background and never had any crash issues or a need to reboot. I just couldn't figure out why it kept going back to the default display settings, until I went back yesterday to work on the files and found my wife's account was logged in.
