So I have Screenblast Sound Forge... All I want to do is make a good recording of a track I have off a cd and a recording from my mic. What is the simplest way to do this? I have tried extracting my song off the cd and then mixing in a recording from another data window. But that makes the tempos off and I can't get my vocals to come in at the right time with the beat!!! So frustrating! I bought this program so I could stop the days of old were i would just record my voice and play the track through the speakers at the same time, but it seems thats what I'll have to do again anyhow. What a waste of $70! Please help! |

Go into your sound card's mixer control panel, select Options / Properties / Recording. Choose the input control labeled something like "Stereo Output", "PC Speaker", "Mixed Output", "What U Hear", etc. Use the CD Player control to adjust the level of the CD playback and the Microphone control to adjust the level of your voice. Sound Forge will now record the mix of the two together. It's probably better to wear headphones while doing this instead of using speakers. The microphone will pick up all the sound in the room and you can get echoes and feedback if the mic hears the same output through the speakers. |
