is there a way to take a handful of MP3s, import them into Soundforge, and then make the sound volume on all of them consistent? |

batch process - normalize > wave hammer There may be some indiscriminate results, but if you have many then there is a trade off that could be made. If you have Izotope then you can use the max - volume feature, and it will pre-scan and apply whatever adjustments that are needed to yield consistent "volume changes". Personally I am using Wavelab a lot more since it incorporates excellent batch processing options and I can use a host of pluggins all on one long virtual audio file, this gives me the ability to then preview and check on the batch prcessed results within my editor, instead of opening them individually to perform before and after comparisons. In summary Batch convereter with whaterver pluggins you wanna use. Now Batch converter is no longer sold nor supported by Sony Sonic Foundry so, you may want to check your older installation CD's since it did come with my Sonic Foundry 6.0a, installation CD. But if you dont have n * 100, then individual processing with variable settings should be an acceptable task. - Kevin - |
