Subject:Problem recording sound bites

I am using SF 7.0a to record short sound bites for a phone system that range in length from 2 to 15 seconds. I have found that recordings that are around 4-5 seconds in length are being truncated to 3 seconds. If the recording gets past a certain length then it is truncated at 6 seconds. I am recording onto a laptop with SoundMax Digital Audio using an inexpensive microphone connected to the mic port. Is there a configuration parameter that will record the sound bite at the exact length of the audio? Thanks.

I reported this to Sony and they confirmed that it was a bug in SF 7.0a. The bug seems to occur when the recording options are set to 8000hz, 16 bit mono. If I set the sample rate to 44100hz and it records the correct length audio. The workaround is to record at 44100hz then do a Save As... setting the sample rate back to 8000hz. Will update post when I hear back from Sony on an ETA for the fix. Thanks.
