Dumb question I'm sure... I recorded an "audio book" on DVCAM tape at 48 and edited at same. In order to make audio CDs I must drop the rate to 44.1 but when doing this within SF6 the playback speed is reduced. I can re-render in Vegas without a hitch but would really like to know how to do this in SF6 (or SF7 if that is what it takes). Thanks, Peter |

Peter, it sounds like you are changing the sampling rate through the FILE>PROPERTIES>FORMAT Tab. This does not change the actual sampling rate, it just changes the header information of what the file reports that it's sampling rate is, therefore you only get a change in playback speed. What you need to do, is use the PROCESS>RESAMPLE tool, and resample the file to 44.1Khz, and now it will playback at the correct speed and have the sampling rate of 44.1Khz. |

Thank you very much, Brian. So simple when one knows how... Sure a lot faster than doing the Vegas re-render thing! |
