Im not sure where to begin. I dont even know if its possible but I have a wav file and was wondering if I could remove the vocals so that just the tune was left behind.

www.analogx.com has a VREMOVER plugin which on an uneffected (in spatial sense) stable centre vocal can be very effective.

But anthing other that than scenario will likely have unsatisfactory results.

can be very effective

If you don't mind loosing the kick, snare and the bass attack also as these are almost always panned to the center too.
