Hello!
Somebody knows how much impedance has the yamaha uw500? I have problems with the output signal. Perhaps it's because of the microphone.
I have a 200Ohn microphone and the cuality is very good, but the signal is very low and I must normalice. I try with a very bad 500Ohm microphone and the output signal is higher.
I don't know the reason but I need more output signal. How?
Thak's!

What is the make and model # of the mic you are using?
Make sure you are switched to Mic level..
You should have plenty of gain

Hello!
I've got a Sennheiser MD 421 II.
It's switched to MIC level.
And volume knobs it's full.
If I normalize to -2 I got a 6db sound. But the record signal it's over this db.
I try to used a short microphone cable but it's the same.
I don't know why the signal it's so small!

The 421 is a real good mic and you should not have a level problem unless your trying to record something quiet, like crickets.
I think the issue may be with your sound card settings: double click speaker icon, Options>Properties>Recording.

FYI: The 421's most popular uses: drums (toms & kick) horns (sax & trumpet, loud guitar & bass amps, DJ/talk radio.

I record my own voice. May be I'm so quiet. But I used to record with this micro and other sound card at least to -12db and now I don't be up to -18bd.
I can't adjust the record level from my pc, because of the volumen control it's blocked in the middle.
I think that it's because of the sound card is external.I don't know how can I adjust the recording level to be up.
I'm lost...

You may have been on the right track, I looked at the Yamaha website and I see the switchable mic/line/inst input on the UW500 is 1/4" T/S ( 2 conductor ) un-balanced and may very well be hi-impedence. The 421 is a balanced low-Z mic. So you would need a lo-to-hi-Z matching transformer, available at most music, Radio Shack and pro-audio dealers. It has a female XLR input and a 1/4" out
They cost about $10 - 20.00 USd

Thank you very much rraud. I'll buy and test the A85F.In a few days I'll tell you if it's the solution.
Kind regards!
