Subject:fx not working

anybody familiar with the problem of selecting certain effects to lay down on a track and nothing happens? namely noise gate and eq, the ones i really want to use. is this a glitch or am i just doing something wrong? thanks in advance! |

I'm a new user to SF (but have been using Vegas and Acid for over a year). I downloaded (purchased) SF Studio (SF 7.0b?) yesterday and loaded it. While experimenting with the program I found I couldnt get about half of the listed effects to work. I chose the data and then chose the effect off the effects menu and nothing happened. No dialog box, no change in the data, nothing. Other effect dialog boxes did appear and were applied. But dIstortion, flange - wahwah, chorus, reverb amoung others, did not work. I was messing with clips from audio CDs. Any suggestions? |

On your programs drive find "Migration Tools" usually found in Sonic Foundry\Shared Plug-Ins\Utilities\Migration Tools |

Or find sfxpfx*.dll in the shared Sony folder and drag them onto one of the open apps to re-register them. |

This worked for me. I dragged from Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Audio sfxpfx1.dll sfxpfx2.dll sfxpfx3.dll on to my open Sound Forge window. Clicked "yes" when asked to register each file. Then restarted the program. FX's work fine now. |
