Hey I just recently got Sound Forge 6.0 for my PC and can record my guitar fine into it, but I was wondering if I could hear what I am playing through my PC speakers while I record

This is a function of the sound card rather than SoundForge. The mixer control panel for the sound card will let you set the volume for the speakers from any of the inputs separately from the volume for recording, so you may have to turn it up or select the proper input in two separate places.

Hey thanks a lot, I got it to work, appreciate it... Now I have another question, is it possible to hear the effects as I play, instead of recording then adding effects?

This not possible with Sound Forge. You will need an app like Sony Vegas to do this. Vegas would probably be more suited for what you are doing anyways, because along with having input monitoring capabilities, you can also do multi-track recording. Therefore, you can record yourself playing one part, then go back and record another part while playing previous recorded tracks.
