Hello..I'm new here and are having a problem..1st here are my specs AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 512Mb Win XP Echo Gina 24 I get this real annoying problem on my AMD PC but not on my Intel PC?? Here is the issue. I have a few older sonic foundry sample cd's and when I go to add a sample to the tracks the playback is slower then what it should be. The issue is starting to creep up in my soundforge 7 as well as my Cubase Se. I can use .wav files that are on my hardrive that I recorded but all the .wav files from CD's playback at the wrong temp?? Any ideas..An earlier prob in my Cubase was fixed when I had to send the .wav file to my hardrive then import it..It seems it can read off of CD'S...Thanks!! |

How do you know they're at the "wrong tempo?" Are you listening to them in other apps first? Acid will adjust according to your project BPM, as opposed to listening to the .wav file in Forge, which will play it at its native tempo. I don't think it's a processor issue, as Acid loads the loops into RAM. It shouldn't be "reading from disc" on the fly. (It WILL load each time, unless you save it as an acd-zip) BTW - If you are at all serious about this, the first thing I'd recommend is grabbing a dedicated HD for your loops. Will save a lot of time & angst in the future. |

I am familiar with the loops because I have heard them all before. Also if you listen to drum loops you can hear the hits tuned down. As for a 2nd HD I have one installed. So when I say worng tempo I mean to say they are slowed down as if pitch shifted.. |

Check the properties to make sure that the key they are set to is "Don't Transpose." Anyone worth their salt (and Sony or any major third-party loop providers would fall into this category) will set any drum/percussion loops to "Don't Transpose." That will take care of the pitch of the loops. "Slowed down" indicates tempo, which is an entirely different matter. Here's something to try: Double click on a track in question. When the properties window comes up, check the "Track Type." If it is "loop," choose "One Shot" and see if that changes anything. |
