Subject:audio help

I recently recorded a live band at a show. When I playback the mp3 recording it sounds "blown out" like the microphone was too close to the speakers. Is there any way to clean up this file?

If it was digital overflow...clipping, (peaks in the wave form squared off @ 0dB.) then the Noise Reduction-2 plug-in process "Clip Restore" may help. If the mics were overloaded and/or the mic pre-amps overdriven... there ain't a hell of a lot you can do. EQ may help, but it'll still be distorted. The same goes if it was recorded as a low-res MP3 file.
