Subject:WaveHamer License

All:
I upgraded to SF7 from 6.0. Wave Hammer now runs in demo mode. My 6.0 was running on a different machine so I don't think I can use the license migration tools - how can I activate Wave Hammer - I assume I still own the appropriate license. BTW my new DAW is NOT on the internet so I've had touse the 'register using another computer" method serveral times but can't find a Wave Hammer registration method. Thanks in advance.

Have you run the migration tool?

Allow me to jump in here also. I never used Wave Hammer in 6.0 and hadn't nuch given it any thought when I upgraded to 7.0. The problem is that I can't see any way to authorize WH by itself (you know, take it out of demo mode). I have both 6.0 and 7.0 registered with Sony, but the demo mode words still show when the applet is brought up for use. How does one authorize Wave Hammer then?

Here's the response I got from Sony Support on this issue:
Thanks for writing. Please try these steps in order:

Make sure that Sound Forge 5.0 and 6.0 are not currently installed. Now uninstall Sound Forge 7.0. After you do this, delete the following directories (if they remain):
C:\Program Files\Sony\Sound Forge

C:\Program Files\Sony Setup\Sound Forge

After you've deleted these folders, go to Start/Run and type regedit, then click the "OK" button. Delete the following keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\Sound Forge\7.0 NOT THERE

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\Sound Forge\7.0 NOT THERE

Also make sure that there are no Sonic Foundry Sound Forge 7.0 registry keys still there. They would be:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\Sound Forge\7.0 NOT THERE

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\Sound Forge\7.0 NOT THERE

After you've done these things, install only Sound Forge 7.0b from this link:

Seems a lot of work to do to get a plug-in to work, especially when I've got other plugs that do the same thing.
