VREMOVER, www.analogx.com, free. Effectiveness depends on image position, effects, and stability of vocal part. geoff |

it wont happen. vocal removal is a joke. if you cancel out the center vocal you also cancel the center instruments as well making hte music sould like poop. also it leaves a ghostly after effect in the place of vocals. good luck. |

I find the following as the most effective way of removing vocals: -use the mute button on the track of your multitrack program labeled "vocal" -use sound forge to record the karaeoke version of the song you don't want vocals on |

Larryo - maybe he never had a multitrack version. mjmm said rather sweepingly "it wont happen. vocal removal is a joke." I have had spectacularly successful results, on some material. Many (most ?) mixes have the main vocal dead centre, and bass/bass drum. OPther instrumentation is usually off-centre. If the centre removal is frequency dependant and re-equalised, the resultant track can be eminently suitable for a live backing track. Hey, all you can do it give it a try, and it need only cost a little time and effort (about 10 minuites including download time !). geoff |
