I am trying to create a midi file. I have a recording that lasts 10 seconds. I would like to combine the 10 seconds of the recording with 10 minutes of pause or no sound. Then repeat this cycle 7 times. Do you have to record over an hour worth of midi format or perhaps you could embed these rules into a midi file? If you could embed (or something similiar to that) these rules into the midi file, how do you do it?

Sound Forge does not record MIDI. Sound Forge is an audio editor.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your post completely such as you are recording the audio output from your MIDI device and want to know if you can C&P that audio with silence intervals between each audio segment or something along those lines, the answer is "You can't record any MIDI in Sound Forge".
