Subject:Recording on a RealTek AC97

Hi when i click on record in Sound Forge 7.0
it gives the error:

The 'Realtek AC97' recording device does not support one or more of the current format parameters (sample rate, number of channels, or bits per sample)

I'm using an onboard sound card that came with my ABIT AI7 Pentium 4 series mother boards and i have downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturers website.

any ideas?

As the message says, your destination format is not supported. Hit the 'New' button and start with 16-bit, 44.1 kHz, stereo. Most on-board sound is pretty limited.
