This is a one time project using a trial version of Sound Forge, can someone help a rookie?

I bought a downloadable audio program and it plays in Flash. I need to record it and then copy it to a CD. I opened the Sound Forge program and set up to record, then played the flash program while recording. (That's what they told me to do!)

Of course, it recorded nothing. Then I was told I need to set up a feedback loop (and they suggested another recording program.) But, I'd like to stick with Sound Forge if this is possible.

Does this make sense and can anyone help me? How can I record this audio program which is saved and plays in Flash.

Open up the volume control panel for the sound card and click Options / Properties / Recording / OK. You'll now be looking at the inputs that Sound Forge uses for recording instead of the outputs for playback. One of the inputs should be labelled something like "Mixed Output", "Stereo Output", "PC Speaker", or "What U Hear". Select this input and set the level appropriately. You will now be able to record anything that you normally hear from the computer speakers.

Thank you for your help. The options in my volume control program were not exactly what you stated, no "What u Hear" option, but the directions were good enough to get me where I needed to be to figure the rest out.

Ended up I had to select either Stereo or Mono Output and then do a bit of volume adjusting. But, I did eventually get it saved as a wave file and then burned to a CD.

Really appreciated your assistance.
