Sound Forge 7 crash on opening files/previewing -Sound Forge - PC

SF 7b pretty frequently shuts down on me when previewing files (with the auto preview) in the explorer window or in the 'open' dialog. The files are either WAVs or MP3s. I've never been able to work out what triggers this. The error that's thrown up is "An error occurred during the current operation. An exception has occurred".
