Subject:Newbie ?...recording multiple tracks

I am a newbie with this. I would like to record a song with a basic guitar, bass, vocals, and drum set up. I was wondering how I get all of those tracks onto 1 big template. I want to record each instrument seperatly, and then get them all on 1 big template so i can play it back and hear it all together. How do i do this? thx

Probably the best way is to use multitrack software like Vegas. Sound Forge only handles a single mono or stereo track.
