I am new to SF and have a question. When I use the noise reduction plug-in it works great. I am taking out the sound of an 8mm camera in some film from the 70's. The problem is it messes with the voices and gives them some kind of echo/delay. What am I doing worng? is the just the way it is? thanks, Chris |

You have to play with the settings. Personally, I start with the default for fast computers and modify from there. I usually set the mode to 3, and bump up the FFT length. The key, though, to the NR2 plugin is getting a good noiseprint. |

In some cases, two NR process' with a lower noise reduction setting work better than one with a high setting. As MPD said, Getting a good noise print is important |

Try adjusting the modes. I have found Mode 2 and Mode 3 the best for voice only type of material and as previously recommended getting a good noise print is a key factor. Click on the Help button and read through the entire thing. There's a lot there that can help you remove noise like a pro once you get the fundamentals down. It doesn't take more than 15 minutes to read the help. |
