One of the biggest dreams of my life is that my favourite computer program, SF, will ever be multitrack. Will this dream ever come true ? I know I can use adobe audition, Cubase or other programs, but SF is just so more pleasant to work with. Thx for any answers. |

Have you looked at Vegas? That's what it does - it's a multi-track audio editor (that also happens to do good video too!) |

Vegas was developed off of a lot of the same functions of Sound Forge and to be exactly what you're asking for. Vegas= Multitrack recorder/editor. Sound Forge=Stereo editor/recorder. And once you have both you wonder how you ever lived without them, because they integrate well together, where you can select a track in Vegas, have it opened into Sound Forge. Do anything to it as you normally do in SF, then save it and the changes automatically get updated in Vegas. If you don't like the changes in Vegas then undo it in SF. Totally flexible. Vegas was first a multitrack audio program. It later added Video editing features based off of how it worked with audio. The audio features continued to be developed. The only thing Vegas doesn't have is midi tracks like Cubase, buit then it wasn't developed to be a midi sequencer, just like Forge wasn't developed to be a multitrack program, thus the reason you say, "but SF is just so more pleasant to work with." Well Vegas is also more pleasant to work with than audition and Cubase. Message last edited on3/6/2005 10:16:24 AM byRednroll. |
