Subject:My BIGGEST SF wish !

After trying out the demo of SF8, I am a bit bummed out because, I was hoping that the Batch Converter function would include Acid info (tempo, length and type). Or, at the very least that when saving Region list>files that this type of info would be included. Is this there, and I am just missing something, or am I the only one who would like this feature? Just wondering,Luces |

Well, I guess that's the beauty of having the batch converter being a Scripting feature, because then anyone can customize the batch converter to do what they want. Start learning scripting by reading the information included with SF and working on your scipting editing and ask questions in the new "Sound Forge Scripting" forum. The sample scripts that come with Sound Forge, allow you to open them and edit them as well as they contain comment lines describing what each line does. |

Hey Rednoll, I thought this might be the case. I can see the advantage to the Script stuff, but man, I am old school(that means lazy) and learning a programming lingo just ain't my bag, but like you said, with the scripting it should make what I want possible....right Sony?! |

Okay,here's my guess OR suggestion; this script thing makes it possible for Sony to "create" Scripts for sale$$$ and if they will make me this one....I'll pay! (A reasonable amount of course)!!!!!! By the time I figured out the script to accomplish this task we will be up to version 25 or 26!!!! Haha! |

I think some of Sony's intentions behind this scripting feature is to build a scripting community, where users will start to share scripts with each other to increase the productivity of their products. I know the Sound Forge Scripting forum is new, but it might be worth posting what you're looking for in a Script and someone might help you out by writing one for you. I know there's a few users in the Vegas scripting forum that do this, so you might try there as well and see if you get any bites.....or talking in their terms "bytes". :-) Message last edited on3/15/2005 8:41:23 PM byRednroll. |
