Hi, Im currently learning Sound Forge 7.0 and i have decided to make the sounds for my next game totally from scratch using Sound Forge. Its a space themed game and i am creating a laser sound. I started off with a sine wave and have now applied a few effect processes but just cannot get it to sound right. BTW i dont want to pre record anything and add it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create this sound? Or does anyone know any links to tutorials on the net as i cannot seem to find any. Thanks in advance! |

Google is probabl yyour friend here, but here is where I would start. Generate an FM chirp. Tools -> Systhesis -> FM. There is a raygun preset that you can start with. Play with the settings. Play with the graphic dynamics effect to distort the signal a bit (which will add some harmonics). Try the flange or phasor effect Add some echo or reverb |

You didn't go to FM, you selected "simple" instead, which is right below FM. |
