When you select a portion of a file the Acid Loop Creation Toolbar shows the implied beats per minute. Does anyone know how SF is making that calculation? It is definitely NOT based on the "Tempo in Beats per Minute" specified in the Edit Tempo panel. SF must be making its own estimates based on the transients. I have tried different files with no tempo metadata info, and SF usually comes up with the right tempo. |

The tempo calculations are based on the time of your selected audio. If you select a region of 2.00 seconds you will see that the tempo is 120 bpm. That is because 120 bpm equals two beats per second (120/60=2) So if you want to find the tempo of a loop you should select 4 beats and you will see the tempo for that loop in the acid loop creation toolbar. This makes it easy to extract loops from other recordings too. |
