I have 7.0 (for now) and I am trying to get a power hum out of a voice over. I know there is a plug-in for Mac's Soap product that allows you to sample a section of audio (just the ambient noise) then reduce those frequencies through out the track. Can anyone help? my e-mail is: brypass@yahoo.com |

NR2 is best for this, but it is not free. I am not aware of any free alternatives. You could try a very narrow notch at 60 Hz and 120 Hz if you live in the US or 50 Hz and 100 Hz if you live elsewhere. The noise gate to reduce it further during quiet periods. |

Thanks mpd! I'm getting NR 2.0 now. Thanks for your help and take care. |

Play with the settings, but in my experience (and with others here) is that NR2 works best when you use multiple passes with low reduction settings with a different noise print. Typically, I start with the preset for fast computers, set the mode to 3, bump up the FFT length, and see what happens. |
