All of a sudden, when I use Wave Hammer in Sound Forge or Vegas, I get random electronic beeps sprinkled throughout the file. I Google searched and determined that maybe my program has somehow reverted to "demo mode," but no real solution on how to fix it back. I haven't changed anything on my computer in quite a while, and everything worked well for months -- until just now. I have Vegas 5 and Sound Forge 7, running XP Pro SP2. Never had a problem with Vegas or Sound Forge before this. This is extremely frustrating. I understand the need to protect against pirating programs, but this is ridiculous. I'd rather have a dongle come with the CD than put up with this. Can anyone help? |

Okay, looking through the archives and knowledge base, I found the answer -- uninstall and reinstall Sound Forge. As an aside, where I first discovered the problem was in Vegas, where I had Wave Hammer on one of the audio tracks. When I uninstalled and reinstalled SF, Wave Hammer was back to normal when I opened it in SF. Then when I opened the same veggie file that caused me trouble the first time, Wave Hammer suddenly reverted back to demo mode! The solution was to remove Wave Hammer from that veggie, then uninstall and reinstall SF, then I could add Wave Hammer back to the file again. So frustrating, but at least it's working again... for now, anyway. If this happens again, I'm liable to break something. Thanks for letting me vent. ;-) |

This happened to me once...I think I'd uninstalled and reinstalled SF7. I think you need to use the migration tools to re-register the plugins. It solved it for me. |
