Has anyone eles experienced this problem? The lock-up bug in SF-8.0 that was allegedly fixed in 8.0a still remains . I have tried but can't duplicate the exact sequence that triggers this occurrence but it happens frequently, resulting in loss of un-saved work. After a few edits, (deletes, volume adj., ect.), then using any VST or DX, Sony or third-party plug-in; upon closing the plug-in window, after using either preview or process, everything appears normal until resuming playback by hitting the space bar key, then moving the scroll wheel to change waveform size. ., after which hitting the left mouse bottom, the cursor changes from "selection highlight double arrow" to the "hour glass process indicator"; the menu bar disappears (tool bar remains), and is replaced by blank white space, the peak & RMS meters remain lit as well. The arrow cursor comes back only on the active window bar within SF., I also believe the Temp file setting reverts to a default: \Documents and Settings\Application Data\Sony\Sound Forge8.0\? There are no error messages except "Program not responding". Other applications and the OS seem normal. File attributes: 44.1/16 bit- mono .wav (usually 30-90 min.s) OS attributes: XP-Pro SP-1/ (audio only PC) I've have not yet resorted to un-install/reinstall, so I'm back to an earlier version. I assume the uninstall will remove my toolbar and other preferences. I've got deadlines to meet and this slowed me down. |
