when im doing a web rib........and i hit record.....the peak is in the red, why? and it comes out disorted

isnt there a preset to record?

In the mixer control panel for your sound card, click on Options / Properties and choose Record. You will now be looking at the volume controls for recording. Turn the level down there until it's not peaking in the red anymore.

theres no preset recorder that will automatically record @ normal volume???

How would SF know what level of sound is going into your soundcard inputs? What is "normal" volume?
