Subject:Extract Regions naming issue?

Good day, I am using SF8.0b and I am having an issue with the naming when extracting regions. What happens is... when I select extract regions and then I put a name prefix and then select extract, I receive a message that says "Fille xxxx already exists do you want to replace or create a new file?" The problem is that no file exists in that folder or any other folder that I am extracting to and when I select "no" in order to create a new file, SF only creates(extracts) the first region and even then it doesn't add the complete prefix to the file name. Any suggestions? Perhaps there is an option that I have selected incorrectly. Please help out b/c I got a ton of files that I am processing in this fashion. Thanks, luces.

Go to "Options> Preferences> Labels" and select "Regions Labels", and change the parameters...
Or use Tools> Scripting. There's a Script for that process in there, though I have not tried it.
I think that script may work in Batch conv. also.

Thanks for the reply. I used your suggestion and it is a workaround, but I still can't figure out why SF would all of a sudden start acting this way. I did do an update to SP2 (had to for some reason that I can't remember now) so maybe I will reinstall and see if it goes back to how it was before. Anyhow, thanks again for taking time to respond. luces

Yeah, SP-2 usually reaks havac on many apps. I've of a few instances with SF responding in a bizzare manner.
If your going to reinstall SF, you could try the repair process if the set-up files were not deleted. Select repair, in the uninstall dialog. Probably won't help but worth a try.

I decided to stay away from SP2 on my DAW. I do have SP1 on there and it works fine.
