The help menu states: While holding down the left mouse button, you can also use the arrow keys to fine tune the pencil position. When I move the arrow keys the cursor moves but not the line i am trying to draw. I am trying to draw a straight line, for many versions, holding down the mouse left button and pressing the right arrow key would draw a straight line. Is this a known bug? If not how do you now draw a straight line with the pencil tool?

Well, it's a known bug now...I've submitted it into our database.

Two workarounds I can think of:
1) Pencil in the endpoints and use Repair->Interpolate
2) Mute the section, then use a manual DC offset to shift it
