I'm bright, but very new to the recording game. I've setup my computer to record voice-over auditions at home. I have everything i need, but i don't understand the steps to take with the software. I am unfamiliar with a lot of the vocabulary. I know how to record my bit, then I get stuck. I need to know how to: 1) take my recording and convert it into an mp3 file. 2) save it to my desktop so I can email it. This seems like it would be the easiet thing in the world. Can someone out there please write down the steps to preform this simple operation. Thanks, Helpless-inHollywood!

File / Save As. Choose MP3 as the type, browse to your desktop folder, enter a file name, save.

Before clicking the final Save button you'll probably want to choose a template. The higher the bitrate the better your recordings will sound. Also, click the Custom button and move the quality slider all the way to the right for high quality. This will take longer to save but the sound will be better.

It doesn't have to be your desktop. You can choose any folder you wish. Personally i always thought the desktop was a rather difficult to use and crowded folder. That's probably just my personal preference though. Pick anywhere that makes sense to you.
