Subject:Senior moment: Burning CD Tracks using Region

I'm using SF 7 and do not have CD Architect.

Is there a way to burn a CD within SF using the Regions as tracks on the CD (other than exporting the regions to wav files and burning using another app)?

I know you can do track at once using the contents of the current file, but I would like to burn a complete CD using regions. An example would be a dubbed cassette or LP.

I thought I had done it once in the past, but that was many brain cells ago.

An alternative would be to bring the file into Vegas and do it there, but that involves another app.

TIA.

Tom

No, not w/o CD Arc. If you do covert regions to tracks, SFonly burnsTAO which always puts a 2 sec. pause between trks.
Using Nero, one could burn DAO and Nero will "see" SF reigions or markers, but that would be another app. and probably be slower then opening in Vegas.

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately, Sound Forge 7 only provides TAO burning. In your situation, there is no way around having to use another application.

In SF8, it's nice because not only does it include CDA, but SF8 also provides integrated functions to export directly to CDA.

OK, thanks for the input.

If I do have a file with regions, do the regions get converted to tracks when I burn a CD, even though it is TAO and inserts the 2 second gaps.

I guess I could just try it - DUH . . .

I posted the original message from a computer far away from where I could open SF.

My usual work flow is to generate a wav file with markers and then use Nero to split it into tracks using the marker metadata as a guide.
