This freeware plugin is really interesting for sound design:

http://www.rekkerd.org/dtblkfx/

Unfortunately it doesn't work with Sound Forge 8 (or Vegas 6 either, but I won't cross-post), but it does work in the now 4-year old Chainer and the very young Reaper, so I don't understand why it doesn't work here.

Thanks for any help/info/etc...

Eleyvata's Extra Boy Pro also doesn't work :

Why is SoundForge such an inconsistently performing VST host? Again, hosts 4 years old can play these plugins without issues, why not Forge?

How doesn't it work? That is what are the problems you are having with it?

As fas as DtBlkFx 1.0 is concerned, it just doesn't scan. There's no processing whatsoever. It does nothing.

As for Extra Boy Pro, Sound Forge crashes if this plugin is activated. Then on restart, SoundForge has deactivated the plugin. If it's reactivated, Forge will crash again. Elevayta suggested a workaround, but it doesn't seem stable (using EnergyXT as a host within Forge for Extra Boy pro). Perhaps it was working on an earlier version of Forge.

Both plugins work fine in other hosts.

Thanks for inquiring.

Well both of these plugs are reporting problems in their code when I ran some tests with them.

I have sent emails to both developers. We shall see what they have to tell me.

Thanks
Peter
