When trying to play a sound file in Sound Forge 8.0d, I get this error-
One or more audio playback devices do not support the current sample rate and/or bit-depth. An unsupported media type was requested.
The ASIO device SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96 [A400] does not support the current sample rate.
I get a similar error when trying to record an external source with my Soundblaster Audigy 2.

The SoundBlaster ASIO drivers only support 48 kHz and either 16 or 24 bit (depending on the model).

This is a limitation of the Hardware and the ASIO driver as the Audigy's hardware only support 48 kHz natively.

My guess is that your file is not 48 kHz. Forge always uses the sample rate of the file that you are playing.

You should use the Wave Classic driver with the Audigy. This way the driver will permit any sample rate and automatically resample on the fly to accomidate the hardware.

Thanks for the quick reply.
How do I change to this driver? Is this a Creative driver, or a Windows driver?
