Copy single channel/paste stereo? -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Copy single channel/paste stereo? Posted by: galaxyguy Date:11/22/2006 12:34:05 AM First post. Just got SF 8 (SF 4.5 before). When I do the following: 1) select a portion of a single track (L or R) in a stereo file; 2) copy 3) with selection still active, "paste" In 4.5, a "Mono To Stereo" dialog box pops us, with radio buttons for Left Channel, Right Channel, Both Channels (default). I hit return, and the selected channel is copied to both channels. In SF8, the dialog box does not appear, and it seems as though the mono selection just overwrites itself - net effect, no change. How can I get the behavior of 4.5 for copy/paste of mono channel in stereo file? This is 90% of what I do in 4.5, so if this is gone or difficult in SF8, I just wasted my money. Thanx!
