Now that we can record directly into Acid Version 6 I have been
having problems with large song files crashing. Was wondering if
anyone else has these problems.

Does it make sense to transfer the Acid project into vegas for
mixing and overdubs, it seems more stable.

Also, why do rendered files from Acid play back at a faster
speed in Vegas, even if all the files have a rate of 48?

WOAH. Can you clarify the last point?

I have both acid and vegas and have been thinking about starting the next one in acid instead of vegas.

What constitutes "long song files" in terms of your question? I'm currently working on a couple of projects (songs) with 50+ tracks that are more than 10 min without problems.

Can't comment on your render issue - I only work in 44.1.

In Vegas, check Options > Preferences > Audio and make sure that [_] Import audio at project tempo is NOT checked. If it is, Vegas will change the tempo of your audio files. (it is off by default so unless you changed it this should not be the problem but I just wanted to mention it in case you did have it checked/on)

Are you sure that your audio interface is also set to 48K? Sometimes other programs change it back to 44.1K and things get messed up. I have my Windows sounds coming through the motherboard sound chip and only Vegas and ACID use my M-Audio FW-410 interface. This way switching between windows and other applications doesn't keep changing the audio sample rate.

When I render a file in Acid 6 and open that file in Vegas 5
it plays back at a faster tempo. If I reneder the file and then
burn the file to a CDR, open the CDR in Vegas it plays at the
correct tempo.

No crashes as of yet. 6.0b - I'm not using any midi or softsynths which may be one of the reasons I'm not having a lot of the problems others report. Typically my work flow has been to build some basic stuff in Acid and pretty quickly move it into Vegas for overdubs/editing/mixing. I'm going to attempt to take a couple of songs thru the final mix stage in Acid since version 6 seems to be working fairly well and I can at least do some basic editing with it now.

We have been doing the same thing..creating a composition
in ACID, and doing acoustic dubs, mixing in Vegas...

I still have not done the Acid b upgrade..
