How do I convert Cassetter to CD with Sound Forge and Tascam FW-1844 and stereo or Walkman. Or Sound Forge and sound card in computer. I have tried both. Currently I connected the stereo audio cable into the headphone output of the walkman or stereo then I connected the other end of the cable to the line in of my sound card in my computer or to the S/PDIF of my FW1844. Then I turned the level up on my computers soundcard mixer on the line in channel. Pressed record in sound forge and it prompted the default settings and i pressed record again and press play on the walkman cassette player. But it does not disply or record any audio. It record something but I don't see any wave forms nor hear anything.

thanks in advance

Assuming your soundcard parmeters are set correctly...
Have you set the Sound Forge input/output device parameters? Options> Preferences> Audio For most soundcards and instances for this type of recording choose "Classic Wave Driver", then set the Default Recording and Playback device selection. (soundcard)

There are many threads posted on this subject by both Chienworks and myself a few years ago, so you may want to search this forum for more in-depth information, though some are for earlier versions of Windows and Sound Forge, but still pertinent..
Cheers
