I'm guessing you are talking about audio CD sectors? If so then you can use the fact that there are exactly 75 sectors per second to get something like what you want. Set the number of frames per second to be 75 and set your timeline ruler to display in either absolute frames or time & frames and you will have a grid that is measured in sectors. Then turn on snapping and you should be able to ensure you always cut on sector boundaries. Mark |

[yes, thanks sorry, I am talking about audio CD sectors, and thanks I have now set frames/second to 75 under Options|Preferences|Status, and adjusted my timeline ruler, thanks Mark!!] coyote |

You need to set Options|Auto Snap to Time. Then any selction you make will automatically have its start and end points snapped to the nearest division on the time ruler which, if you have the ruler measurement set to either Time & Frames or Absolute Frames, will be a frame point. And if your Frames/second is set to 75 then this will be an audio sector boundary. You will still be able to position the cursor off a frame boundary, but if you remember to always press T (shortcut for Snap to Time) before you make any edit the cursor will be snapped to the nearest fame point.
