Subject:Audio Glitches when recording with SoundForge

In recording audio for meetings we have increasingly run into interference upon playback.

We generally receive a dedicated feed from the onsite AV team that is connected to an M-Audio FastTrack for level adjustment. The signal is then sent to an IBM Thinkpad T-60 that is running Soundforge 8.

Please view the examples at the following URL to hear the issues:

Any guidance on what is causing this would be helpful, Thanks

Sounds to me like a recording buffer problem.

In SF8 and go to

Menu item OPTIONS
PREFERENCES
AUDIO (tab)
Increase the Record Buffer from wherever it is. If it's a laptop if it's not at 21ms or higher should do the trick. I know on my old HP laptop I had it set at 55ms to avoid the same problem (high latencies in recording aren't an issue unless you're monitoring live - then it just gets annoying - otherwise it's no big deal).

Hopefully that works..
