Subject:Installing SF9 and uninstalling SF7 + NR2

I see in the Release Notes that uninstalling SF7 can cause some problems. Questions: Are there any reasons I should not uninstall SF7, except that I may have to run the Register Sony DirectX Audio Plug-Ins migration tool? If I don’t uninstall SF7, will both versions be running on my PC?

In the past I have had serious problems when I’ve tried to register NR2. (I think this is / has been a general problem outside the English speaking part of the world.) Questions: Should I uninstall my existing version of NR2d before I install the new one? Will I have the same problems registering this new version? Will the new version of NR2 function in Vegas 7d? (The reason I’m concerned, is the problems I have had with the registration of NR2. I really don’t want to reinstall XP just to get NR to work.)

Thank you in advance,

If you don't uninstall SF7, both versions should run fine. If you uninstall SF7 after SF9 is installed, the only known issue is with the Volume and Pan plug-in.

As for NR 2.0d. You should be able to update to the new version without uninstalling 2.0d. If you have a really early version of Noise Reduction (2.0, 2.0a, 2.0b) - you will be prompted to uninstall first.

Using the new NR in Forge 7.0 was not something we tested, but I don't see a reason that won't work.

Thanks,
DaveS
