My first post here in the Sound Forge Forums

I have been working with Adobe Audition specifically to clean up audio for video.

I have the ability to highlight a section of audio, right click on it and capture a noise reduction profile. I can then go in and select the who audio track and apply the profile to remove all instances of that particular section that was selected.

Is there a way of doing the same thing in Sound Forge??? I can't seem to find anything that resembles this feature in SF.

BTW - I'm working with SF7.

TIA,

Cliff

- Highlight a short segment of ONLY the noise one would like to attenuate, i.e.; HVAC, tape hiss, VTR motor noise, etc. For example, between words, phrases or sentences. (or during room-tone, if it was recorded)
- Open NR-2.0
- Select the "Noise Print" tab; AND tick the "Noise Print" check box.
- Engage "Preview", the print should appear after a second-or-so, capturing the noise print;
- Adj. the NR parameters under the "General" tab menu as desired.
- Right-click the blank gray area below the "Bypass & Real-time" boxes. to access a sub-menu.
- Left click "Select all Data" from the menu and execute via "OK".

hmm - appears that I don't have the NR-2.0 plugin - now I know why I haven't been able to get it to work like in Audition.

NR2 was a separate purchase, but is now included with SF9.
