in SF9, I don't see a way to use *different *colors for the unselected, and selected, waveforms...any clues please?

(in SF8 against the default white and black backgrounds (of unselected and selected) I used the default blue, and a bright yellow for maximum contrast.)

Options / Preferences / Display. Your options are much more varied in version 9. However, some of the useful options that you're used to from previous versions are mostly gone. You can't choose separate hues for selected / unselected anymore. You choose a color scheme, or sorts, and Sound Forge chooses the details for you.

Play around with it a bit and you can eventually come up with something workable.

thanks for confirming my suspicion.

so I've now brightened up the selection background and kept much of the high contrast I was shooting for.
