So how do you guys decide what new features should go into a new version of your software? If enough users request a particular feature, does it get added, even if you guys don't think it needs it? Do you ever decide on a new feature, yet save it for future versions for some particular reason? If all your competitors have a particular feature, do you include that? How much weight is put into user requests vs. what the designers think should be included vs. emerging technology, if any. I see some features requested here time and time again, but have yet to show up, while others make me go "huh?" (although I'm sure other users may benefit from it). Just curious, that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if the overriding concern is to add features that will hopefully increase the software's market share. And to be honest, i couldn't possibly complain about that. |
