I have used Sound Forge v.7 and now v.9 for the last 3 years but have never found a way to remove or filter high frequency distortion on a spoken voice recording. I can remove low frequency rumble / hum no problem. The current problem has been caused by feedback from the microphone (stereo) - something to do with mic placement vis a vis acoustic environment during the original recording. I would be most grateful for any advice. Can anyone out there help? Annie T. |

Feedback can usually be attenuated by "notching" out the offending frequency using a Parametric Equalizer with a narrow bandwidth. "Process> EQ> Parametric" . To find the offending frequency, the Spectrum Analysis tool can "pin-point" it . If there is distortion, i.e; preamp overdrive, digital overs or whatever, that's another issue. |

The noise reduction also has a nice "footprint" capture which really can help isolate out a common and recurring noise - I swear by it at times. Ken |
