Hi Fred- I don't think anybody here meant to dupe you. Sorry if you feel that way. ACID DJ was named as such because of the loops which are available--not because it was strictly for DJ's. In fact, the lighter versions are for people who want to be able to do DJ-type stuff without having to worry about figuring out connecting turntables, mixers, outboard effects processors, etc. together. All at a very reasonable cost. ACID Pro is designed more with production professionals in mind. The ability to use envelopes, FX sends, Sync, support for 24-bit files, and the like, are the benefits of using ACID Pro. If you do currently have ACID DJ, then you at least have the loops which came with it, which aren't available on any other CD. Also, the upgrade path price to ACID Pro is no more expensive than buying Pro outright. Just make sure you're registered, and our sales department can help you out if you want. In defense of the price of ACID Pro--it's new technology that can't currently be found elsewhere and did take a bit of R&D to create. I hope this helps. -Joel >>why didn't they warn me? |
