Subject:A Tempo Question for the Pros.......

Hi, I am a new user of acid- I like to create loops by dumping in wav files I have extracted from CD's and then play with the looping tool until something sounds good. I do not have a final tempo in mind- and i often want to create an odd time-signature loop. Here's my question.... It seems to me that when I find a loop- then create a new sound file, and the new loop then pops up in my session, it should be in the same tempo.....but it's not. For example: I haven't changed the tempo of my session- it's at 120 bpm, and I create a new sound file from the loop, when it pops back up in the session, it says something like 93 bpm, and it's too fast. What am i doing wrong? Do i have to clock the tempo and time signature of every loop that I make? This doesn't seem right. Sorry for the long-winded post....... Thanks! Collin |
