Subject:SFAS 9 - Save at a different Playback Rate

I have an mp3 file that part of it is playing at half the correct playback speed. So I open it in SF Audio Studio 9, cut the effected portion and paste special into a new file.
Change the Playback Rate to 2.00 and it plays fine. So I save it. Unfortunately they newly saved file still plays at the same slow rate.

Can anyone explain to me how I go about saving this file at the new Playback Rate?

If I understand correctly, if you double the playback speed, it's ok?
If this is the case; select:
- File> Properties> Format> and double the current sample rate.

- If a different sample rate is needed, select, Process> Re-sample. (Normally 44.1KHz. for CD audio) or "Save as" a new file with your desired PB sample rate.

Thanks, that did it.

I had to resample the "first" part to match the "new" bitrate so I could combine the two parts. It did change the sound a little. I'll have to learn more about this.

What does the "Playback Rate" adjustment do for us? It was an extremely easy way to adjust the speed to exactly where I needed it.

Is there anywhere I can put in an "Enhancement Request"?

Playback rate is merely for your convenience in quickly locating what you want to work on while editing. It's kinda like the fast forward button on a VCR.

If you want to suggest an enhancement go to Support at the top of this page and then click Product Suggestion.

If you want to change the playback rate of just a certain section, then select that section and goto EFFECTS>PITCH>SHIFT.

The Pitch Shift effect is what you want. There are different adjustments within the Pitch shift depending on what you are trying to do.

+12 "Semintones" would be the 2X playback rate.
