hello, Acid is the main program I'm using these days, In conjunction w/ Sound forge. I'm totally happy w my results but recently with one particular file [one that i 've put a LOT of time into] I'm having problems w/ dropouts and stuttering. This file was fine until i started adding tempo change commands. Also, as I added more material at the end of piece [NOT more audio, i.e. wav files] it seemed to put an additional strain on playback. When i played back from the end of the piece there was no problem. However when i went back to the beginning, there was major stuttering and gaps. Has anyone else out there experienced this with tempo change markers? Also, a general question that I've had ever since I started using Acid, is RAM, or processor speed the critical factor , when it comes to gaps in playback? MIKE |

Hi Mike yes ram is good.We have a PI 200 w/96mb of ram with Darla 5.01.We did have to increas the Playback Buffering to .45, in the Options>Preference>Audio menu. Now on the main room we use a PII 450 w512mb along with the MOTU-2408 we use alot of outputs so that one we have set to .94, I would try adding small amount unit it play fine.Hope this helps.
