Hi...
i recently purchased Amulets VST to Direct X Adapter and
tried to use it with Acid Pro.Everything went fine unttil i
saved the arrangement. The problem is that i cannot reopen
the arrangement anymore. An errormessage appears and i have
to close the program.Uninstalling the VST Adapter didn´t fix
it.
So any chance to recover the arrangement?

Any help is appreciated

Hi Ralf,

What is the exact text of the error message you get?

I myself have a couple files that will save but never reopen. The
problem occurs when I use any of the Opcode MonsterFX (DirectX
versions of Fusion, Vocode, Vinyl) in Acid 1.0(a & d). Fortunately I
incrementally save quite frequently and was able to just roll back one
version without losing anything, but I have been exploring the option
of editing the .ACD file in a hex editor and seeing if I can remove
the references to the Opcode FX from the RIFF Effects Chunks to
recover the files.

Hi Chris

this is the error message:

The problem maybe that Acid cannot re-open the VST Adapter which has
to re-open an VST Plug In.
The manual of the prog says, that it will work with Acid.I have written
an mail to Amulet to solve this problem, but in first place...i need my
arrangement!!

Hmm, a nasty error, and probably not much help to anyone except the
original programmers. OLE32.DLL is also what generates the error
when Acid crashes using my Opcode FX.

Tracking down OLE32 errors can be a real pain because since it
inevitably involves the transmission of data from one app to another,
each company involved usually thinks its the other company(ies) fault
for improperly interfacing.

Perhaps we will get "lucky" and some others will come forth with some
series of events that cause similar errors that may provide a clue to
what is going wrong here.
