I am trying to record my bass guitar into Acid...

Plugging in my bass directly into the sound card does not
work at all.

If I plug my bass into my amp, and then plug the output
form the amp into the sound card, I get some sound, but it
is very, quiet. If I turn my bass and amp all the way up,
it is only slightly louder on my computer...and then it is
distorted.

Anybody know what is going on here?
