Subject:Using Turntables, and Matching ACID's "beat"

I am a new owner of ACID Music, and I have what should be a
simple problem, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

I am sending my turntable (through a little DJ mixer) into
my sound card and pulling my loops from my albums. My two
questions are the following:

1. After I've recorded what is my prospective loop, I have
to trim it so that the loop is the trimmed portion of what
I just recorded. (There is always a little bit to trim off
each end.) How do you edit your loop, and then save the
EDITED loop as the whole piece? The problem that I'm having
is that, even after I trim, when I go to paint more of the
loop, it begins at the beginning of what I originally
recorded, not the (4 beat, 8 beat, whatever) loop that I am
attempting to trim it into.

2. Using the same turntable, into my sound card, is there
any way to ACID-ize the .wav files that I record so that
the beats of my loop match the beats that ACID is sensing
underneath the toolbar? So far I'm having no luck. I'm sure
that there must be a simple solution to this, but I can't
seem to make it happen. I know enough (about the
mathematics of music) that I can find the BPM of random
bits of music, but when I try to adjust ACID's "beat" to
what I record through my turntables, it just speeds
everything up. I'm trying to adjust the beat to fit my
loop, not adjust my loop to a different speed, if that
makes sense.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Jeremy!

#1 You cannot edit a loop in ACID. If you want to edit the recorded
loop you should open it in an audio editor (for example Sound Forge).
With this program you can trim your samples exactly as you want them.

#2 If you want your turntable-sample to play at the original tempo,
open it in ACID and right-click on the loop name. Then select "Use
Loop Tempo" and ACID's song tempo will change.
All other samples in the song will now adjust to the new tempo.

Hope this'll help you out!
